Portishead Armed Forces & Emergency Services Day is a community-focused event designed to honour the dedication, courage, and sacrifice of military personnel, veterans, and blue-light emergency teams.

The primary objective of the day is to provide a platform for the public to express their gratitude to both the armed forces family and the local 999 responders who keep the region safe. It bridges the gap between the community and these vital services by showcasing "the human side" of these demanding professions.

Visitors of all ages can look forward to a vibrant schedule of activities, including a traditional Veterans Parade, thrilling arena displays, and live demonstrations using specialist equipment. The lake grounds will also host community stallholders, live entertainment, and a variety of food & drink vendors.

With an estimated 10,000 to 15,000 people expected to attend, strict parking restrictions are in place around the Lake Grounds. To ensure a smooth journey, a pre-bookable park and ride system is in operation, allowing visitors to secure a guaranteed parking space in advance. Ultimately, the event serves as a powerful symbol of respect, civic pride, and mutual support, bringing the North Somerset community together for a fun, educational, and patriotic day out

The day will culminate in a moving sunset ceremony at 6pm, a poignant moment dedicated to honouring the courage, sacrifice and enduring service of our servicemen and women, veterans, and all who have served. The community will come together in quiet reflection and heartfelt appreciation, ensuring this special day closes with the dignity and respect our armed forces and emergency services so richly deserve.

Organised by Posset Events in proud collaboration with Portishead Town Council, this highly anticipated public gathering takes place at the scenic Portishead Lake Grounds.
